Our re-valve and re-spring work always incorporates a re-furb and is the most cost effective way of drastically improving a motorcycles handling without breaking the bank.
We would in most circumstances ask a series of questions to determine what the bike is predominantly used for, how hard it is ridden and the weight of the rider(s). This would then give us a basis for custom building a shim stack and valve, as well as replacing or modifying a valve to suit your needs.
As for springs, we supply them to suit all weights and discipline of the rider and we usually recommend springs are changed in combination with a re-valve unless you are only marginally below the factory tolerances of the OEM spring(s). In a nut shell the reason for this is that the rebound speed will be largely different to that of a factory spring and both damping and rebound speeds will not be synchronised, thus making for a very poor suspension setup.
Only with a combination of the spring designed for your weight and modified valving can you truly feel the benefits of custom built suspension.
