Fork Refurbising

During a re-furb the forks are fully dismantled, inspected for wear and thoroughly cleaned both outside and within the fork cartridges. All chrome sections such as the stanchion are then polished to reduce friction.

The forks will then be carefully assembled replacing all oil seals, o-rings, copper washers and DU bushes. The next stage is to fill the legs with the correct oil level and subsequently set the air gap (this differs from one model of fork to another).

Once these levels are correct the forks will be set up by adjusting the compression and rebound damping followed by setting the sag by adjusting the preload.
